It's hard to believe that 2 months have passed since my last post. Many, many, things have happened and it's going to be hard to condense it all into a few short paragraphs, but I'll do my best. October was a busy month. My SIL, BIL, beautiful niece and way too smart nephew came for a short visit. It was very nice to have them, but way too sad to see them go. I had a glimpse of what living close to family would be like and it made me sad for Alex. He will never know what it's like to grow up with family living nearby. TEAR! We also closed on our very first home that happens to be located in Maricopa, way outside of the Phoenix metro area. I love the house and the neighborhood. It reminds me of the Midwest. I HATE the drive into the city. There is no Walmart here yet, and I am having trouble adjusting. They say that the Walmart should be open by Summer of this year, but who knows for sure. Alex decided that he was too busy to be bothered with breastfeeding and he weaned himself at three months. Again, TEAR! I had given myself the personal goal of making it to 6 months of exclusive breastfeeding and although it's not my fault, I did take it personally. I think it had a lot to do with the stress I was under trying to move, and his lack of comfortablitly with his new surroundings. I guess it's not the worst thing in the world, formula feeding is so much more convenient!

November absolutely flew by for us. We were busy unpacking and working on the house, I started working full force again, holiday season started for Denny, and his mom came to visit for his 30th birthday and Thanksgiving. Whew, I'm exhaused just writing about it. December was a little less crazy, but it still flew by. I learned how convenient shopping on the internet can be and have decided I will never again visit the post office during the holiday season. At least not to ship packages anyway. Alex had his first visit with Santa that went suprisingly well, minus the first time mom freak out about germs. We celebrated Christmas Eve with family in Scottsdale, and Christmas with friends. And, Alex took the cutest 4 month pictures EVER! I do however, realize that I'm completely biased. Please feel free to judge for yourself. See the santa baby down below....

Ok, so now we're up to New Years Eve. It was the MOST exciting New Year's EVER! Wait for it.......WE (not I) were asleep by 11:45!! We couldn't even stay up to bring in the new year. How lame is that. I remember not too long ago when I partied all night long ESPECIALLY on New Year's Eve. However, things have changed over the last year. Last year I was preggo and exhausted, and drinking was out obviously of the question. This year I'm a mom, still exhausted, and drinking just makes me more tired. Anyway, my resolution is to try harder to go to bed earlier (the dishes can wait till the next day, or the day after that), and spend more time with Denny after Alex has gone to bed. It also would be a bonus if I could find a reliable, trustworthy babysitter so that I might be able to go out on a date with him once in awhile (living so far away from family sucks!) So, that's our life in just a few short paragraphs and few pictures as well. I wish everyone a very happy, healthy, and prosperous new year! Love to all....

He is SO perfect!! I don't know how it is possible for our family to produce such perfect babies! Then they turn 2! That is when you'll get to the point where drinking is a necessity to make it through the day...lol!
We enjoyed our visit as well, I hate you guys being so far away :(
Can you believe how fast time flies. Little Leila Jane is going to be a year old so soon! So, that means you're creeping up on that glorious # faster than me! :-)
OH MY HEAVENS! Whoa! You updated your blog! :-) I love the pictures. I'm so glad I got to come visit you over the break and I sure hope you'll find time to come up to Flag soon! I miss you and wish you the best!
